4. Use of Data in AI and Machine Learning


We may use certain personal data, in anonymised or aggregated form where possible, to support the development, testing, and improvement of our systems, including machine learning models and generative AI tools. This helps us to enhance risk management, compliance, and operational efficiency. Where personal data is used, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your rights and freedoms. The Company processes the Investor's personal data only where there is a lawful basis to do so under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The purposes and corresponding lawful bases include:

Performance of a contract - to take steps prior to entering into and to perform the Company’s obligations under loan and other ancillary agreements.

Compliance with a legal obligation - to meet the Company’s obligations under applicable laws and regulations, including tax, anti-money laundering, and anti-financial crime

Legitimate interests – to protect the Company’s business interests, manage credit risk, enforce loan obligations, and maintain accurate records, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.

Consent (where required) – where none of the above bases apply, the Company will seek the your explicit consent before collecting, using, or sharing personal data.

Additional note on Credit Reference Agencies:

In order to process your application, we will supply your personal information to credit reference agencies (CRAs) and they will give us information about you, such as your financial history. We do this to assess creditworthiness and product suitability, check your identity, manage your account, trace and recover debts and prevent criminal activity. We will also continue to exchange information about you with CRAs on an ongoing basis, including about your settled accounts and any debts not fully repaid on time. CRAs will share your information with other organisations. Note on automated processing: we use automated tools (including credit scoring, AML and sanctions screening) to assist our assessments. However, final lending decisions are always made by our credit team and are not based solely on automated processing. You have the right to request a review of any decision if you believe the use of automated tools has unfairly affected the outcome.

10. Exercising Your Data Protection Rights


You may exercise your rights under the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 by contacting our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at [email protected].

We may ask you to verify your identity before responding to your request.

We will acknowledge your request promptly and aim to respond within one month for UK GDPR requests (or up to three months for complex requests).
